Being safe is of paramount importance to all of us at Coquitlam Ridge. Our focus on health and wellbeing is aimed at protecting our people, supply chain partners and clients from workplace health risks. This is reflected in our Goal Zero philosophy. Goal Zero is integrated into our business strategy and we ensure that our workforce, stakeholders and the public all benefit from our commitment to being safe.
Our business has a formal Health & Safety management system that is certified to ISO 45001, and we have also been an active member BCCSA COR (Certificate of Recognition) since 2003. Our management systems are aimed at establishing industry leading standards across all of our operations , regardless of location.
We recognize that health and safety evolves through the lifecycle of a project, and as such, we assemble our highly skilled workforce to manage health and safety risk holistically. By engaging in cooperation and consultation with our workforce we focus on continual improvement, always striving to develop new, safer and healthier methods of delivery.
Education remains paramount. We hold an annual International Safety Day to promote health and wellbeing events across all VINCI Construction businesses around the world. With risk prevention front and center we ensure that each and every employee is aware of his or her role in preventing accidents and changing behavior.

Our team is committed to embracing the integration of environmental protection and sustainable development in all aspects of the services we offer. This commitment applies to every component of the life cycle of the project.
Our team of experienced professionals has delivered many projects in sensitive environmental settings throughout the Lower Mainland. We understand that the best value for the owner is not only cost driven but must also consider the economic, environmental and socially sustainable practices to achieve and deliver the project objectives. We have achieved successful project delivery through minimizing the environmental impacts properties by the of cost-effective, realistic environmental controls and management systems.
Coquitlam Ridge received ISO 14001:2015 (Environment) certification in 2019. This certification ensures that our commitment to environmental sustainability is consistently administered throughout all levels of our organization. Our corporate Environment Management System governs over all construction activities and ensures Best Management Practices are implemented across all our projects.

Commitment to Indigenous Relationships
Coquitlam Ridge is committed to recognizing and respecting the rights of Indigenous People in Canada. Our goal is to be considered a respectful, trustworthy neighbor and to foster business relationships with First Nations in British Columbia.
We maintain a strong legacy of working with Indigenous organizations and communities on ports, marine terminals, local infrastructure projects, and more. Coquitlam Ridge’s sister company, BA Blacktop is a member of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business it is important to us that our approach to Indigenous Relations considers the culture and values and respect for our indigenous partners.
Through the formally established partnerships with Tsleil-Waututh, Tsawwassen First Nation, Musqueam and Squamish Nation we provide a framework of trust and greater cooperation. We are also actively working to develop meaningful relationships with other Indigenous groups in all of our operational areas. Our approach includes identifying and understanding areas of mutual interest and focus on capability and capacity improvement through employment, procurement and community action.
